REGULAR MEETING
MAY 10, 2006
Members Present: Shawn Kraycs, Dennis Long, Ruth O’Mara, Monica Ashton, Terry Wright.
Members Absent: None.
Others Present: None.
Supervisor Wright called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Invocation & Pledge of Allegiance.
1. Motion by O’Mara, second by Kraycs, to approve minutes of March 8, 2006. All ayes, motion carried.
2. Ruth O’Mara submitted Treasurer’s Reports for February, March & April of 2006.

4. There were no citizens who wished to speak.
5. Motion by Long, second by Kraycs, to defer requests for 06-07 Fiscal Year funding from the S.T.I.N.G. Program and AuSable Valley Youth Services for discussion at the budget workshop. All ayes, motion carried.
6. Supervisor’s additions to agenda follow:
7. A Public Hearing has been scheduled for June 14, 2006 beginning at 7:00 p.m. regarding adoption of the 2006 version of the International Fire Code.
8. Discussion of the old fire barn owned by the City of Grayling and Grayling Township and its use by the City D.P.W. regarding utilities and rent.
9. A packet explaining Policy Governance, a management method being proposed for future township use was recently distributed to Board members.
10. Researching ways to legally use excess Liquor Law Enforcement funds.
11. Motion by Long, second by Kraycs, to authorize Supervisor to write a letter of support to the Crawford County Board of Commissioners regarding placing the question of millage for the Military Museum of Transport and the Crawford County Historical Society on the August 8, 2006 ballot. All ayes, motion carried.
12. Grayling Township Board work session for FY 2006-07 is scheduled for May 17, 2006 at 7:00 p.m.
13. Curt Jansen has resigned from the Grayling Township Zoning Board of Appeals but is still willing to continue his term on the Grayling Township Planning Commission. Motion by Ashton, second by Kraycs, to appoint James Cox for the remainder of Jansen’s term on the Z.B.A. All ayes, motion carried.
14. Four sealed bids for the 24X36 square foot pole building for the recycling center were opened at 2:00 p.m. May 10, 2006. Motion by Long, second by Kraycs, to accept the low bid by J.W. Haggerman of $15,518.05. All ayes, motion carried.
15. Discussion on 2007 compactor decals. Eliminate early bird discount?
16. Motion by Kraycs, second by Long, to approve payment of claims on vouchers4216, 4217, 4223-4258, Board & Comm fees for Mar. $1225.00 and Liquor Inspection fees of $120.00 for a grand total of $91,269.51. All ayes, Motion carried.
17. Motion by Kraycs, second by Long to approve payment of claims on vouchers 4272, 4273, 4298-4352, Board & Comm fees for April $569.00, School Election Inspectors fees $1628.26, for a grand total of $108,745.91. All ayes, motion carried.
18. Motion to adjourn, carried. (8:30 p.m.) All ayes.
