GRAYLING CHARTER TOWNSHIP BOARD REGULAR MEETING
OCTOBER 18, 2017

Members Present: Cindy Olson, Rick Harland, JoAnn Michal, Dennis Long, Duane Brooks, Claudia Selthoffer.

Members Absent: Monica Ashton.

Others Present: Doug Paulus, Grayling Agriculture and Education Center; Erich Podjaske, City of Grayling; Russ Strohpaul, Fire Department.

1. Supervisor Harland called the meeting to order at 10:00 a.m.

2. Correspondence and Reports for September (No action required): Animal Control, Central Dispatch, Attorney, GFD Activity Report, Building Department Report.

3. Motion by Long, second by Michal, to approve minutes of September 20, 2017, as presented. Ayes, six; Nays, none; Absent, one. Motion carried.

4. Treasurerís Report for September was reviewed and placed on file.

5. Motion by Brooks, second by Selthoffer, to adopt the maximum allowable millage for 2017 (.8711). Ayes, six; Nays, none; Absent, one. Motion carried.

6. Doug Paulus, representing Grayling Agriculture and Education Center, presented plans for Northern Market, within the City limits of Grayling. Motion by Long, second by Brooks, to authorize a letter of support for the Northern Market project. Ayes, six; Nays, none; Absent, one. Motion carried.

7. Erich Podjaske, on behalf of the City of Grayling. Requesting that the City/Township property north of the cemetery be made available for private purchase. Motion by Long, second by Brooks, to approve sale of property owned by the City/Township, aka parcel code 20-040-41-006-14-100-03. Any restrictions on the sale of the property must be met prior to sale. Ayes, six; Nays, none; Absent, one. Motion carried.

8. The Ford F-150 pickup has been ordered for the Building Department. Cost is $25,541.00. Motion by Long, second by Michal, to approve payment for vehicle upon delivery. Ayes, six; Nays, none; Absent, one. Motion carried.

9. Discussion regarding future municipal water system for densly populated areas of Grayling Township.

10. Motion by Brooks, second by Michal, to approve payment of claims on vouchers 665 through 704 and liquor inspections of $120.00 for a grand total of $109,987.37. Ayes, six; Nays, none; Absent, one. Motion carried.
