GRAYLING CHARTER TOWNSHIP

REGULAR MEETING

MAY 21, 2008

Members Present: Shawn Kraycs, Dennis Long, Monica Ashton, Terry Wright.

Members Absent: Cindy Olson, Two vacant positions

Others Present: Gaila Gilliland, Bob Hutchinson

Supervisor Wright called the meeting to order at 10:00 a.m.

Invocation and Pledge of Allegiance

1. Correspondence (no action required): E-911 Report for April, Ordinance Enforcement Report for April

2. Motion by Kraycs, second by Long, to approve minutes of April 16, 2008 as presented. Ayes, four: Nays, none; Absent, one and two vacant positions. Motion Carried.

3. Treasure’s report for April was presented and placed on file.

4. Motion by Kraycs, second by Long, to proceed, according to law, with the request by area residents for a streetlight at Wilcox Bridge Rd and Jones Lake Rd. Ayes, four; Nays, none; Absent one and two vacant positions. Motion carried.

5. Supervisor authorized to get bids for an energy audit of the township hall.

6. Motion by Kraycs, second by Long to adopt resolution honoring firemen and designating June 6, 2008 as Firemen’s Appreciation Day. Ayes, four; Nays, none; Absent one and two vacant positions.

7. Motion by Long, second by Kraycs, to appoint Guy Roth 4607 Orbit Drive, to fill the vacancy on the Grayling Township Planning Commission. Ayes, four; Nays, none, Absent, one and two vacant positions.

8. Discussion regarding Lake Margrethe road-ends: Estimates presented by Supervisor, as requested for gravel, signs and trash receptacles to be placed at public road-ends at Lake Margrethe. Bob Hutchinson, 1365 Falcon, requested that Falcon Ave. be set aside and a public hearing be scheduled on this matter. The Board consensus was that all public road-ends would be treated equally. Motion by Kraycs, second by Long to proceed with the sign placement at public road-ends at Lake Margrethe. The placement to be documented with dated photos. Ayes, four; Nays, none; Absent, one and two vacant positions. Motion carried.

9. Gaila Gilliland updated the Board on CCEPD activities.

10. Motion by Kraycs, second by Long, to approve payment of claims on vouchers 6402 through 6471, Liquor Inspections, $120.00, Fire Dept. Const. Loan, $11,040.71, for a grand total of $60,117.71. Ayes, four, Nays, none, Absent, one and two vacant positions. Motion carried.

11. Motion to adjourn at 11:15 am, carried. Ayes, four, Nays, none, Absent one and two vacant positions.
