REGULAR METING & PUBLIC HEARING
MARCH 21, 2011

1. Roll call:
Present – French, Joyce and Cox
Absent – Robson, one vacant seat
Also present – Terry Wright, Jan Zalobsky, Paul and Judi Mesack

2. Motion by Cox support by Joyce to approve minutes of February 21, 2011. Three in favor, one absent, one vacancy. Motion carried.

3. French opens public hearing on case 11-02.

Request: Construct a 24’ X 26’ addition to the rear of the current residence and a 12’ X 12’ screened porch on the west side of the residence and a 26’ X 30’ garage in the rear yard. Variances required include, 1) residential variance of 154-ft. to the front, 2) residential variance of 22-ft. on west side, 3) residential variance of 20-ft. on east side, 4) accessory building variance of 27-ft. on west side, 5) Accessory building variance of 40-ft. to rear.
Non-conformances: Undersize lot @ 11,400 sq.-ft. platted in Shaw Park Subdivision
Zoning justification: Ordinance 2003-02, Article XVI, Section 16.05.B. “Lots or property of record that are non-conforming at the time of the effective date of these regulations because of lack of size to accommodate building setbacks from the water’s edge shall be allowed to be built upon and variances shall be allowed for required setbacks upon such reasonable terms as set forth by the Zoning Board of Appeals, provided that structures be placed to best meet the objectives of the Natural Rivers Act.”

Mr. & Mrs. Mesack present their case. They are planning to retire and move into this house

French closes public hearing. French reads two letters. (on file)
1- Bob Dixon – Building Inspector – Concerned about 3’ garage
2- Ron Flack – Concern is 3’ at garage and his well.

Motion by Cox support by Joyce to approve with conditions.
1. Try to move garage further east if possible.
2. Replant trees taken out with native species.
